Tangled Birthday Cake

Here are the pictures of the cake I promised.

For the cake I used a 5" and 4" round cakes.  I frosted them with a star tip in green then piped out the vines and flowers on tower and in the grass.  The cone is frosted purple and then placed on.  For the tower I used a tower from the princess castle cake set.  My sister had one I used.  It worked perfectly.  Rapunzel I bought from target.
It turned out great and the girls loved it as well as I.
Enjoy!

Tangled Birthday Party

Tangled has taken over at our home as it seems for a lot of other little girls.  All they want is Rapunzel everything.  So this is our Little F's 5th birthday party all about Rapunzel.
We had 10 little girls at our party.   The invite I found online and then filled in the blanks.  After printed then I wrapped yellow yarn around the card and we sent them off.  Also wrote on there to bring an extra shirt for painting.  When they first arrived they were greeted with a big poster of Flynn Rider wanted poster on door and a braid of yellow yarn hanging on the door.

When they walked in the house they saw a 5 1/2 foot tall Rapunzel.  I blew her up off of a coloring page and then my nice sister painted her and we attached her to foam.  She was awesome.
We then went outside on our patio to paint.  We had is set up for all the girls to paint on their own canvas and then they could take it home to display.  The easels I borrowed and the paint was all washable so it just wiped right of whatever it needed to.  After they were finished painting we took the braided hair and used it for a tug a war.
Dad against all the girls.  They loved it and the hair had a double meaning for a game and decoration.
We then had them do 5 against 5 which was a blast.
We then went back to the tables and made Pascal.  These were off of Disney Family Fun printable.  They were perfect.  You can find the pink blowers at Dollar Tree and 8 in a package.  The green is fun foam the girls drew their faces on them and then we went around and stapled them together.
We all came inside and opened presents then did cake or cupcakes.  I will get a better show on the cake on a later post.
We gave them all a crown and a cupcake to eat outside.  Then we all went out front and played freeze dance to Tangled CD.  Till it was about time to go then the highlight of the party was Lanterns.
No, no fake ones here.  They were real and huge.  The lanterns turned out to be 24" inches by 3 feet big.  I ordered them from http://www.justartifacts.net/flskyla.html   the lanterns came in two days to us.  It was amazing they work just like hot air balloons and fill up and float away.  Each of the girls made a wish as we let them go.  We had 10 of them one for each girl.  The girls loved it.
As you can see here it was pretty cloudy and we had been praying all day that is would not rain or be windy.  It was perfect.  It took one to practice that didn't work but then all the others did.  Only one got stuck in the tree you see.  It was put out and all was well.

The party was a hit and everyone enjoyed it even the parents because they got to help with the lanterns.
Wahoo for Tangled to make the party a hit!
